Are your services covered by my home insurance?
In most cases if you have storm damage to a shingle roof insurance will cover the damage. It should be inspected by a licensed roofing contractor immediately.
Tile roofs are rarely approved by insurance companies for replacement
How long can I expect my roof system to last?
For Shingle roofs: Damage is more visible to the eye. Shingle roofs are more variable in their lifespan depending on weather and general wear and tear. Current warranties can now last up to 50 years for most materials.
For Tile roofs: If your tile roof is more than 20 years old there is a good chance it is ready to be replaced, and you should have it inspected by a licensed roofing contractor.
